Description/Abstract

This paper describes three initiatives the University of North Georgia Department of Recreational Sports has put into action to support the university's strategic goals with regard to student development, departmental collaborations and community engagement.

Bio

Ken Harrison is the Associate Director of Recreational Sports on the Gainesville Campus. Ken obtained his Masters in Health and Physical Education from North Georgia College & State University and served as their Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach from 1996 – 1999. He was awarded Coach of the Year honors in 1998. In 2004 he started teaching health and physical education at Gainesville State College and has remained on board through the consolidation into the University of North Georgia.
