Aims & Scope
The International Journal of Security Studies: a graduate and undergraduate student research journal (IJoSS) is an open access, online/print-on-demand, and peer-reviewed journal on Security Studies published and supported by the University of North Georgia Press (UNGP) at the University of North Georgia (UNG).
IJoSS presents national and international perspectives on security issues and studies. By disseminating undergraduate and graduate research internationally, IJoSS seeks to facilitate students’ acquisition of knowledge from alternative viewpoints allowing them to further develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and global competencies required to lead in a complex world.
The University of North Georgia Press is a department under the Office of the Vice President of Leadership & Global Engagement at The University of North Georgia. UNG is the Military College of Georgia, and one of only six federally-recognized senior military colleges in the United States. UNGP, a scholarly, peer-reviewed press, is an extension of our sponsoring university, University of North Georgia. Our primary function is to promote education and research, with a special emphasis on local and global cultures. Culture is defined in the broadest sense of the term to include intellectual and artistic activity as well as shared community. Our partnership with the university provides a learning environment for students to gain real life experiences in publishing and marketing.
IJoSS is a bolstering component of the Institute for Leadership and Strategic Studies, a department also under the Vice President of Leadership & Global Engagement at the University of North Georgia. UNGP’s partners include the Army University Press, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and the International Military Academic Forum (iMAF).
