Description/Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine to what extent and in what ways college students use mobile technology with internet capabilities to communicate, access websites, and collect information for informal and formal learning purposes, with the emphasis on informal learning outside formal institutions. The participants for the study’s sample population consisted of approximately fifty college students in north Georgia. The majority of participants were Caucasian and ages ranged between 19- 55 years. This study adopted a quantitative research methods design, and a survey was developed and deployed. The mean, average, and percentage will be calculated for detailed analysis. The results from the study may indicate the current trends in use and provide insight into the different ways college students use mobile technology on-the-go to aid in the different learning processes. Possible conclusions could point to new methods of learning for all age groups through mobile technology. Faculty Adviser: Sanghee Choi.
