Abstract
The body of work explores the societal and political issues facing women in developing nations and their resilience. Each piece focuses on one woman's experience represented by her portrait. Other elements of the piece are representations of the challenges of the woman's home country. The aesthetic of the work was created with high standards of design and composition to make a difficult subject palatable. The innate beauty associated with art and design qualities support the beauty in each woman's resilience.
