Description/Abstract

Race is a complex topic and can not be defined easily. Race is biological and social. We so often define race by one or the other classification when it is beneficial. To truly understand race, both must be considered. Then we can begin to understand how race affects the person we become and can set us up or set us back. These conversations are important to have. The most productive start is in the classroom. The rhetoric of racism and the composition of non white races are tackled by those in the field of composition and rhetoric for when you feel you can not speak up, you can write.
