Description/Abstract
Chrysodeixis Includens (Soybean loopers) have a wide range of food sources. We wanted to find out the effects that iridoid glycosides(IGs) and pyrrolizidine alkaloids(PAs) on chrysodeixis includens eating habits. We tested this by giving the Soybean loopers Cabbage leaves treated with the solutions made from IGs and PAs with ethanol as the independent variable. To determine if there significant difference between two solutions we tested three things being the percent area eaten, the mass of the cabbage eaten, and the mass gained by of the caterpillars. According to our studies, the chrysodeixis includens did eat PAs in slightly fewer amounts than regular ethanol or IG.
