Interview with Emily Barnes Porter
An interview of Oconee County resident Emily Barnes Porter conducted in November 2013. She moved to the county in 1934. She grew up in a farming family and recounted her experience with a rattlesnake. She recounts her father's work with the Civilian Conservation Corp under President Franklin D. Roosevelt. She notes changes in Oconee in terms of the change from dirt to paved roads.
