Description
"This photograph was made in the back yard of the old Thrasher home currently the home of Jane Giles on Third Street. Ralph Thrasher and his nephew Tom Thrasher war show in the photograph. Ralph was one of the Thrasher baseball players; he played on the local games. His brothers, Loran and Frank, played for the Atlanta Crackers. The brother, Frank later played in the major leagues.
The photograph is of interest for the background scene. The far ridge in the photograph is on the west sode of highway 441. the open fields of the 1940s allowed a person to see for long distances." Information provided by Jimmy Christopher.
